Some cool Super Bowl California images:
Northern Elephant Seal
From December through March, a breeding colony of elephant seals can be observed at Drakes Bay. The elephant seals returned to Point Reyes National Seashore in the 1970s after being absent for more than 150 years.
I drove to Drakes Bay on an early Sunday morning, knowing that only a few people would be on the beach due to the San Francisco 49ers playing the Ravens in the Super Bowl. Once I arrived, this huge male snorted and made those loud clapping noises male elephant seals are known for. I spent more than three hours with his family, keeping a large distance between my camera and the animals.
