About the desk

What this site is, where its material comes from and what it does not claim.

Super Bowl Rentalz is an archive and a desk. It keeps the written record of the week around American football’s championship game — the host cities, the rentals people put on the market for it, the halftime show, the betting markets and the money that moves through all of it.

The oldest material here was filed in 2013, around Super Bowl XLVIII in the New York and New Jersey area, when the site began as a listings board for short-term rentals. It kept filing through Arizona, the Bay Area, Houston and Minneapolis. That record is still here, under the same addresses it always had, and it has been moved into this design rather than rewritten for it.

How the sections work

Eight sections carry the site. Game Day is the hours around kickoff. Host Cities is the city that takes the game. Stays is the rental side, including every listing the board ever carried. Halftime is the show and the advertising around it. Numbers is cost and return. Archive runs edition by edition. Wagering covers the betting markets. Daily is the running desk — everything filed that does not sit in one section alone.

What the numbers on this site are

Every figure in the data panels on this site is counted off the pages of this archive and says so underneath itself: how many pages it was counted across, and what was left out. Nightly rental rates are not converted from weekly ones, because a week is a different product and not the same price in other units. Listings without a postal code are shown as excluded rather than guessed at. Where a figure has no source, there is no figure.

What this site is not

It is not a booking agent and takes no payment for a stay. It does not represent any team, any venue or the league. Listings in the archive are a record of what was advertised at the time, not an offer that stands today.
