How a stay is listed
What a listing page on this archive holds, and what each field meant.
Every property page on this site is a record of a rental that was advertised for one of the weeks the archive covers. The pages are kept in the shape they were filed in, which is why some carry a full set of fields and others carry two lines.
The fields
Rate. The figure the listing quoted, with the unit it quoted it in. Most are nightly; some are weekly. The two are never mixed, and a weekly rate is never divided down into a nightly one.
Address. As given on the listing. Some are a full street address with a postal code, some are a neighbourhood. Where there is no postal code, the listing is left out of the state counts rather than placed by guesswork.
Bedrooms, bathrooms, property type. Taken from the listing form. An empty field means the form was left empty.
Listed by. The name the listing was filed under.
What the rate did not include
Rates in the archive are the asking figure from the listing. They are not bookings, they are not what was paid, and they do not include cleaning, deposits, local lodging tax or anything else that was settled between the two parties. For what the whole spread looked like, see Numbers.
