What this record is

This is an archive page. The dispatch under it belongs to Game Day and stands as it stood when the desk closed on it.

The filing year is 2015, and that year accounts for 39 of everything we hold.

There are 31 entries under Game Day, this page counted among them.

Nothing in the entry ties it to a particular edition, and we did not want to assign one on a guess.

Read it as a record of what was being said at the time, not as advice about anything happening now.

We kept the original address when the site was rebuilt, which means anything that linked to this entry years ago still reaches it.

At the bottom of the page we list the filings closest to this one in time, which is usually the fastest way into the rest of the section.

The game-day desk covers the match itself and the hours around it: previews, the week of build-up, and whatever the teams and the broadcast were doing while the city filled up.

The text keeps its original claims. We would rather show what was believed at the time than quietly replace it.

In the Arden Fair Mall in Sacramento, KCRA has a glass-fish-bowl-booth where they broadcast the news and weather. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take the shot and then study (have fun with) the details after.

See it super-sized here…
