Dispatch

Good defense

Check out these Super Bowl 51 images: Part 1 of this run, filed Mar 2, 2016.

Where this sits in the ledger

This page is a dispatch from the Game Day desk, kept in the form it was filed rather than rewritten to read as current reporting.

Its year is 2016, and the shelf holds 80 items carrying the same one.

Across the site we keep 323 pages, 31 of them under Game Day.

It sits outside the edition-by-edition run, which is why you will not find it under a Roman numeral.

It is kept for the record. Where it names people, places or fixtures, those were the ones in front of the desk at the time.

This address is the one the entry was published under. Rebuilding the site around the old addresses was the point, not an afterthought.

The foot of the page carries the neighbouring filings by date. They are not related by subject, only by when they landed.

The game-day desk covers the match itself and the hours around it: previews, the week of build-up, and whatever the teams and the broadcast were doing while the city filled up.

Names, prices and fixtures inside the text are as first written. Where the world has moved on, the page has not.

New Orleans Saints safety Malcolm Jenkins stops Oakland Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore from catching a ball thrown by his quarterback Jason Campbell.
