What this record is

Filed to Wagering as a dispatch. Everything beneath this note is the original entry; the notes around it are ours.

By date it belongs to 2014, one of 59 entries this archive keeps from that twelve-month stretch.

Wagering holds 73 entries in all, and this is one of them.

The filing does not attach to one edition. That is common for material about the host city rather than about the match.

Read it as a record of what was being said at the time, not as advice about anything happening now.

The page changed design but not address. Whatever pointed here before the rebuild points here still.

The nearest entries by date are listed at the foot of this page. They are what the desk was handling either side of this one.

The wagering file covers the betting markets that form around the game and the money that moves through them.

Nothing in the body below has been edited for accuracy after the fact. Corrections, when we make them, are made in the open.

We have outlasted the 16-year Bowl Championship Series rankings, Harris Interactive Index and Legends of Coaching polls. Rankman promises … 12; Arizona State 6-1; Recent survey revealed six of last seven opponents underestimated the Sun Devils. (12).
